Schubert and Liszt

8:00pm

With the Chilean-Canadian pianist Alejandra Cifuentes Diaz

A Grand Piano Recital in candle light devoted to the masterpieces of Schubert and Liszt

Franz Schubert and Franz Liszt are among the 5 or 6 composers the best known and most appreciated by the general public!

Does everyone know only that Schubert died at the age of thirty-one years after having composed more than 900 musical works? Does everyone know only that he was the greatest admirer of Beethoven and that he wrote masterpieces as great and as deep as Beethoven?

The pieces that he composed for the piano are among his most beautiful works. His impromptus, his sonatas and his musical moments are among the most remarkable and appreciated masterpieces. His enchanting melodies touch the heart of man and bring him peace and happiness! These are works that lift the spirit and the soul of men! These are the pieces that you'll have the chance to hear on this evening in an ambiance that is most conducive to listening!

Liszt had the chance to live to be much older. He died at the age of seventy-five years and left a considerable work for the piano! His numerous tours across Europe made him famous! He is the author of several transcriptions of Schubert's works for piano!

It is in the course of a recital for the piano, punctuated with precious moments of dreamlike poetry, and which will certainly surpass your expectations, that the most sublime works of those two composers will be presented in a church illuminated only by candles!
